Michele Williams QC has been appointed to the role of Deputy Chair of the Post Sentence Authority. Ms Williams has over thirty years’ experience as a barrister and was one of Victoria’s first female Crown prosecutors.
Ms Williams was responsible for prosecuting some of the state’s most serious sexual and violent offenders, and she retired as one of the most experienced Senior Crown Prosecutors in November 2016. She brings extensive experience in criminal law, and a unique understanding about the behaviour of serious offenders, to the Post Sentence Authority.
Her Honour Jillian Crowe has been appointed as sessional member of the Post Sentence Authority.
Her Honour has over 40 years’ experience in criminal law, including nine years as the Regional Coordinating Magistrate at Heidelberg Magistrates Court where she played a key role in establishing the first metropolitan Family Violence Division. Prior to being appointed as a Magistrate she worked in what was then known as the Crown Solicitor’s Office in criminal law. She retired in January 2018 after thirty years as a Magistrate.
These appointments bring the Post Sentence Authority’s board to its full capacity.
